Palm Beach State College’s commitment to the life sciences can be seen on each of its campuses—in facilities with state-of-the-art laboratories, a renowned life sciences faculty, and a curriculum focused on the needs of the life sciences industry.
Students may choose from associate degree and certificate programs in biotechnology, environmental science and environmental horticulture, as well as take a wide array of college credit courses in biology and microbiology, physics, chemistry, earth science, oceanography, botany and more. Beyond the labs and classrooms, students learn alongside professionals in internships that often lead to jobs. In fact, some students have bachelor’s and master’s degrees from other schools, but come to Palm Beach State to take advantage of the expert lab-based instruction and outstanding internships provided by more than 25 area biotech firms.
Professionals also turn to Palm Beach State. The College’s Corporate and Continuing Education division offers noncredit courses, workshops and seminars, as well as customized training in biotechnology, horticulture and landscaping, energy technology and environmental studies.
Palm Beach State College offers the annual Math & Science Institute, designed for high-achieving students contemplating STEM careers.
